Your NovaPads Tesla mattress comes with a free custom-fit sheet — a feature not all Tesla mattresses or Tesla bed offer. On one hand, it provides a soft, comfortable touch so you can sleep more soundly in your Tesla bed; on the other hand, it protects the Tesla mattress from getting dirty. To help you keep your entire Tesla mattress setup in the best condition, this manual explains how to clean the three key components: the sheet, the storage bag, and the Tesla mattress.
Cleaning the Sheet
The Tesla mattress sheet is removable, so you can simply take it off and machine wash it. Use a mild detergent and a gentle cycle, then let it air dry or tumble dry on low. Regular washing keeps the Tesla bed sheet fresh, soft, and hygienic, while also ensuring it continues to protect your Tesla mattress effectively. A clean sheet also improves the overall comfort of your Tesla bed setup.
Cleaning the Storage Bag
The Tesla mattress storage bag is made of leather with waterproof properties. Thanks to this water-resistant surface, it does not require deep cleaning — simply wipe it with clean water and a soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or scrubbing tools, as these may damage the leather finish. After wiping, let it air dry naturally in a cool, ventilated place. Proper care of the storage bag helps keep your Tesla bed mattress protected during travel and storage.
Cleaning the Mattress
Core Principle: Spot clean only. Do not machine wash or soak in water.
The sponge core of your Tesla mattress acts like a giant sponge. If water gets inside, it will be extremely difficult to dry, leading to mildew, odors, and potential delamination of the TPU film.
Step-by-Step Cleaning Instructions:
1. Dry Cleaning (Pre-treatment)

- Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment, or a lint roller, to remove surface dust, hair, and food crumbs from your Tesla mattress.
- Purpose: This prevents stains from spreading when you use liquid cleaner.
2. Spot Cleaning (Targeted Treatment)

- Prepare a mild neutral detergent (e.g., mild laundry liquid, dish soap) diluted with water.
- Dampen a microfiber towel or soft sponge with the solution, then wring it out thoroughly until it is barely damp.
- Gently wipe the stained area of the Tesla bed mattress in small circular motions.
- Important: Do not scrub vigorously with a brush, as this may damage the stretch fabric surface.
3. Rinsing (Residue Removal)

- Continue until no soap foam or slippery residue remains. Residual detergent attracts dirt and may harm the TPU coating.

- For tough stains: If a stain persists, repeat the spot-cleaning process gently. Do not over-wet the area.
